if youve ever been in the infantry you have heard of this term. it is a name given to the retards who buy an obscene amount of bull shit they will never use. the type of guy who has a flash light for his flash light! they always go into a px and buy stupid things like knee pads, lazers for their rifles, glow in the dark magazines or what ever they buy. I blame COD for this phenomenon. What happened to Rambo killing half of Nam with a crossbow and a torn T-Shirt? the retarded thing about it is they are usually POGS( personel other than grunts) some computer guy who has never stepped out of the A/C. what we call a fobbit.
a fobbit is a guy who never leaves the FOB or forward operating base in country. they just hang out buying gear or 10 thousand dvds. he is always eating at one of the fast food joints. while your eating nasty ass MRE. hes the guy who will bitch when there is no hot water when hes been showering everyday and youve gone a month hes always trying to get a combat award just because he heard a boom somewhere.
see i have a theory. alot of guys who join the military in a time of war and were not in a combat MOS wishes just for a little while he was me or my brothers. but since hes not he will long to tell the stories he heard, and he will to who ever will listen.the odds of your gay ass boyfriend or guyfriend or brother or uncle, dad or cousin being in combat during this long drawn out war on terror is slim. nil if he isnt in a combat mos. ask him if he is an infantryman, or mortarman, maybe even a fire support guy. if he isnt and he has told you all these ramboesque stories about how he killed all these hajis he is liein his ass off. i know that some guys just so happen to be on a convoy that gets blown up or shot at, but dont come at me with this "i was clearing houses man bodies everywhere" BS! and then come to find out your an engineer who builds our hooches. BTW i feel the infantry is 100% self sufficent. we need no food to be cooked we have MRE, we dont need trucks we have FEET, we dont need buildings we have our BivySack, and we dont need supply because we can count and disperse our own bullets and weapons. (did i miss anything?)what about the "yeah i was in SF"
theres always some dillweed who will say yeah im in SF! oh really now? usually hes a liar. especially if his ass is working at walmart or micky d's. because the sf of today usually will continue their career as a civilian contractor instructing or doing consulting for whoever. they learn so much stuff and are professionals at it all.
